I thought the plot of this movie was surprisingly interesting. This guy was a famous piano player and was in a train accident. He had to get hand replacements but the new hands were those of a suspected killer. Orlac thought that because he had the hands of a killer that they would make him a killer. He started seeing Vasseur, the executed killer, everywhere. I was like wow I didn't think a movie form 1924 would have such a clever plot. Then this guy told Orlac that if he didn't bring him money that he would tell the police who killed Orlac's father. The killer of his father was supposedly the executed killer, so if Orlac had his hands he would be pinned for the murder. So Orlac went to the authorities and told them what happened. When they caught "Vasseur" they found out that he was just blackmailing Orlac and disguised himself to look like Vasseur. Then a major plot twist occurred. The maid of the house came forward and told the police that Nera (the blackmailer) was actually friends with Vasseur and MADE A MOLD OF HIS FINGERPRINTS TO COMMIT THE MURDER AND PIN IT ON VASSEUR. I WAS LIKE OMG MAJOR PLOT TWIST. So they found out that Vasseur was actually innocent literally the whole time and Orlac didn't have the hands of a murderer. So overall I actually enjoyed this movie. Would I watch it again probably not but I didn't hate it.

First of all I love this movie so much. I don't even know where to start. So this girl Ellie Chu was basically an outcast in her school and would get paid to write essays for everyone. Then this one guy, Paul came into play. He gives her a love note because he likes this one girl named Aster. So Ellie rides her bike everywhere and Paul runs alongside her everyday. Everyday they talk about how to get this girl to like him. Ellie talks to Aster posing as Paul because she is better with words. When Ellie was saying how her dad couldn't get a job because of his Chinese accent it really broke my heart. She is supporting both of them by writing essays. Everyday Ellie and Paul's relationship grew stronger and stronger. But so did Ellie and Aster's without her knowing. Ellie started to fall in love with Aster but couldn't reveal that because she lives in a very religious town. I love this because that's how I feel. I feel like if I express who I am that I'll be judged or people will try to change me. Then Paul and Aster meet and it didn't go well the first time but the second time was better. He told her that he wanted to be more than friends and Aster agreed. Ellie was crushed because she didn't realize that she loved her. Paul told Ellie that she's going to hell because she likes girls. So when they were all in church this guy named Trig confessed his love to Aster. She was speechless and then Ellie chimed in a tried to talk about love but didn't know what to say. Then Paul starts talking about love. Then Ellie said that love is messy and I think that is the most true line ever. She basically says that she loves Aster and walks out of the church. Later on Ellie sees Aster and runs up to her and kisses her. She said "see you in a few years" and walks away. Then Ellie was leaving on a train to go to college and Paul was seeing her off. The train started going and Paul started running after the train. Ellie was laughing and crying because she had said before that she thinks that is the cheesiest thing in a movie. That's where it ends. I felt like I had a personal connection to this movie. I think it was sooooooo cute and I would watch it again.
I don't know where to start. My mom loves Meg Ryan so when we saw she was in this movie we wanted to watch it. It started off fine, a classic love story with an affair. Then there was a, let's say, fun twist. Louise who was Ian's wife was angry because she found out her husband was having an affair with a. 24 year old, Sara. Their marriage was a little rocky to start out with. Louise knocked Ian out and tied him to a chair. She did all of this to make her husband fall in love with her again. There was some humor in this movie that I definitely enjoyed. She thought that by keeping her husband duck taped to a chair that he will fall in love with her and she can talk him into it. Stuff happened and he ended up duck taped to a toilet. I thought that was the funniest thing in the world. Then there's another plot twist that I didn't really think was relevant to the plot. A man was riding on a lawnmower and came in to rob the house. Louise came in and he knocked her out and tied her up in the bathroom. Then the cheesy romantic stuff came in because Ian started confessing his love to an unconscious Louise while they were both tied up in a bathroom. The man brought friends over and started partying in the house and breaking stuff. Louise and Ian realized that they did in fact still love each other and wanted to fit their marriage. Then the next morning Sara came to the house because Ian and she were supposed to go to Paris but he never showed up. The robber tied her up as well and put her in the bathroom. Then all hell broke loose because Louise and Sara were fighting over Ian. I couldn't take anything seriously because they were all tied up in a bathroom while some guy on a lawnmower was robbing them. They eventually worked everything out and called the police. Time skipped and Louise and Ian had a baby daughter and were selling the house. They were happy and went into town for lunch. A guy passed them and Ian realized that was the guy that robbed their house. And that's where the movie ended. I thought that it had good meaning behind it but I'm not sure if it was executed well lol. The lesson I got was if I want someone to love me I guess I should tie them to a toilet.
I would like to say that this movie did not live up to my expectations, LIKE AT ALL. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. I read the description and it said that an alien turned people into zombies and other creatures. IT DIDN'T SAY HOW STUPID IT WAS. I started the movie and I already didn't know what was going on. They didn't clearly explain what was going on. Then the alien thing literally wasn't explained at all. Mind you this movie was rated R I guess because of the language. Then the "zombies" came into play and I would like to say that those are not zombies. They looked like people with blood. Then somehow all of these worm things came out go this girl because she got infected by the alien guy. These worms then infected the whole town and they turned into "zombies" WHICH AREN'T EVEN ZOMBIES. WHEN THEY GOT SHOT THEY DIED, THAT DOENS'T HAPPEN. They also spit acid and I don't even understand how that was relevant at all. Then there was some sort of love story going on. The main character Starla was the alien's wife. Her husband Grant was infected. He looked like he was 60 and she was 20 but that wasn't really explained. The sheriff, which I honestly don't remember the name of, liked Starla. Then this one girl's parents and siblings were infected by these worm things and turned into zombies which ate meat of any kind. The mayor of the town was literally the most annoying character I have ever met. He was such a baby throughout the whole thing. I'm honestly glad he died. He got shot and I died with laughter. In the end somehow the alien died with gas and fire and so did all of the zombies. Every person in the town turned into a zombie except Starla, the girl, and the sheriff. They saw all of the dead bodies and then they just walked away down the street. LIKE THAT IS THE STUPIDEST ENDING I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE TITLE FOR THE MOVIE LOOKED SO GOOD BUT THE MOVIE SUCKED. I 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE TO SAY!
This movie was exactly what I needed after bit of a hard weekend. When I read that this movie was a parody of a bunch of 80s movies I knew I had to watch it. It started out with a scene that I wasn't expecting. The main character, Janey Briggs, was played by Chyler Leigh, who was Lexie in Grey's Anatomy. All I could think about was her in Grey's Anatomy and I couldn't see her playing this role in the movie. I played a game during the movie trying to see if I could name every movie mentioned. I did decently good but some I had to ask my mom about. I didn't realize until I looked it up that this movie came out in 2001. I thought it was more of a recent movie, but I guess I was wrong. This movie didn't have much of a story line. It was "the popular guy had to get the ugly girl to be prom queen" but you kind of forget about that once you're so absorbed into the comedy. Something new happened in every scene and I never expected any of it. I couldn't stop laughing during this whole movie. But there was some parts where my mouth just hung open because I didn't expect them to say some of the lines they did or show some of the things they did. I also forgot to look at the rating of this movie and it was rated R, which I guess I kind of expected after watching it. Janey's home life was a parody of the TV show Shameless. It was filmed in the same house too. Then there was a scene from The Breakfast Club and the scene was in the same library. I loved the fact that they brought at least one of the major actors from each 80s movie to act in their movie scene. If they couldn't bring a person back they would use the same set pieces or props used. The end of course needed that cheesy romance theme to it, but I'm glad they added comedy to it. Molly Ringwald Evan showed up and I absolutely loved it. This movie overall was really funny and I would watch it again.
